When you first start the text client you will see the login screen to the right where you can login as a player or into your account. You only need to enter your e-mail address if you want to into your account, which is where you can create a new player. Otherwise you may just enter name of the player that you wish to login as.

Once in the game you'll notice a toolbar with various buttons that provide you with any number of options. You may also wish to learn how to fight, chat with other users, or what text commands you can input. Most importantly you'll probably want to learn all you can about the player panel, which gives you total access to your player. You can also learn about the Skill Tester.

If you're a control freak, you can change your text commands and text colors to better suit your needs.
